Originally designed as a monitor for a top recording studio, the Legacy Studio HD offers unmatched clarity and dynamics in a compact enclosure. Don’t let its size fool you. The Studio HD is a butt kickin’ compact monitor featuring an 8″ Silver/Graphite bass/midrange driver and 1″ dual pole AMT folded ribbon. The sound is open and airy, yet a kick drum “feels” like a kick drum. Vocals are robust and effortless. You can hear lungs fill with air before the first note is sung.
The rear terminal plate features removable copper jumpers to facilitate bi-amping if desired. Independent high and low frequency contour switches allow you to adjust the speaker to your room. Small speakers often come with trade-offs. Not the case with the Studio HD’s. Thanks to extra deep tuning of the ultra efficient midrange/bass driver, they keep perfect rhythm down to the lowest note on the bass guitar – E 41Hz.
The Studio HD’s can serve as front mains or as side or rear channels with ease. Coupled with the Metro subwoofer, Studio HD offers a building block approach to true high-end audio.
The editor of Pro Audio Review wrote:
“An excellent imaging speaker system, the Studio HDs are impressive in the amount of information they convey. On 24 bit/96kHz recordings, the Studio HDs sound very natural with accurate presence and imaging deep and wide. The bass also appeared more accurate than my original Studios. The transient response is quite good; cymbals reflect the speed and air of a well recorded setup, without a hint of harshness… just like it sounds in the session.
